A Emerald Spring Surrounded by Mountains of Sand
Situated in southwestern Peru, Huacachina is built around a small natural oasis lagoon encircled by colossal golden dunes that rise over 300 meters high. According to local folklore, the lagoon was created when a young Inca princess wept for her lost lover, her tears turning into water while her cloak formed the surrounding wind-swept sand dunes.
